Addition to Historic Home
This project is an addition to a 1920's Craftsman Style home which includes a new family room, screened in porch, mud room, powder room and coat closet, exterior patio with trellis, and additional rear entry porch.
The family room addition is non-traditional in that it is not adjoining the kitchen/breakfast room, but rather a destination for entertaining with direct connection to the exterior.
A screen porch was added to the breakfast room to create a sense of a single space connected to the kitchen/dining space. The design was to create the appearance of a converted one story carriage house linked to the main house with a new mudroom and side entry, while forming a new outdoor entertaining space that connects new and old.
The new space is filled with light and features a custom built-on that includes a beer dispenser for the client's home brewed beer.
